Peppers Moving Company had its beginning as Peppers Coal Yard in 1938. Mr. William Riley Peppers is our original founder. In 1948, Riley’s son, James Herman Peppers came to work for the coal yard. During the summer months when coal sales were slow, they cleaned up the coal trucks and operated what would come to be known as Peppers Moving Company.
In 1959, Herman and his wife Bonnie purchased the coal and moving company from Riley. They then purchased their first moving truck in 1963 and the moving company became a year round operation. Herman and Bonnie ran the moving company until 1989.
Yetta Daugette, Herman and Bonnie’s daughter, and her husband Dave then acquired the company. Yetta and Dave owned the moving company until the end of 2008 when it was closed due to illness. Yetta passed away in December 2009 and left a legacy that we can only hope to live up to.
In 1991, Dave and Yetta’s son, James Daugette, came to work for the company. James was the manager of the moving company until 2005 when he left to work with his wife at Daugette Title Service. In July of 2011, the company was reborn when James and his wife Lisa re-opened the company. We have a vision for the future of the company that is based on what we learned from previous generations. One of hard work and a dedication to our customers to provide the best moving experience we can. Our ultimate goal is satisfying customers, one at a time.
